converting from WSD 2.0 to 3.0

    Hallo,

We licensed the WSD 2.0.9 SE over a year ago and are now testing the new version. Since I've been using WSD a long time and know what the old version could and couldn't do the following questions did not come up because I didn't know what I was doing!!!

    1. We have more then 200 WSD projects which where created using Version 2.0. When opening these with 3.0 they all appear empty. Sure not everything that was possible in 2.0 is possible in the same way in 3.0, but it still would be nice to have at least something (i.e. the datapattern) to start with. Is there a way to convert the old files into new ones?

    2. I used the DataView selflink-type in every project and the html-type in several with WSD 2.0. Can't find either in the new version??? How shall anybody work without selflink? Where did you hide this feature?

    3. When I would close some of the 'views' i.e. 'Data Preview', 'Outline', 'html-view' .. where could I select them to be shown again?

    4. Is there still a html-text view? It was sometimes helpful in order to see if the right node was selected (since the marker doesn't show with i.e. #text-nodes)

5.Since we already purchased the 2.0 SE version I wondered if this will effect the price of the update or if you will charge full price?

    Best Regards

We are very glad that you are still using WebSundew 2.0. You are right that the new version is quite different from the old one. We think that it is
not possible to modify the projects automatically, because in the new version a new browser is used (and it is not IE). The internal structure of the
documents is usually different in different browsers. That is why the NodePath which is valid in one browser will not be valid in the other browser.

This feature is availavle now, it is in the 'Link' type. You need to activate the additional features and select 'Self' checkbox.

Now it is impossible to manage it (this feature will be added in the one of the next updates). To reset the window you can run the program from the
command line with the parameter -clear (for example ws3pro.exe -clear).

Now this feature is not available, but we are planning to add it in future as there are many requests like that from our customers.

Yes, we offer upgrades, you can upgrade your version to WebSundew 3.0. Pro. We sent you mail with pricing information.

    Hallo,

    thanks for your respons!

However you did not fully answere my question #2, since I also somewhat asked about the html-type. Will this be added as well? or is there a nother way to extract the html of a knot?

    Best regards!
